Getting the look at Movietech
We’re continuing to grow our lens inventory with the addition of these Zeiss Uncoated Master Primes.

Camera, lens and grip specialists, Movietech, are pleased to report a steady flow of testing at both their Pinewood Studios and Great Point – Seren Stiwdios, Cardiff bases. Crews from all areas of the industry have been making use of the company’s facilities, which remain carefully managed at all times, to ensure complete safety for all visitors.
As the cautious, but steady, return to production continues, the Movietech team have experienced particular, interest from crews keen to audition some of the more unusual candidates from the company’s vast lens inventory.
Having been meticulously curated over the past thirty years, Movietech have amassed one of the industry’s most expansive lens collections. With recent investment and ‘new arrivals’ from the likes of Zeiss, Fujinon and Cooke, the company has no shortage of modern glass available. This is however being countered by a noticeable uptake of the more ‘classic’ members of their hire stock.
Movietech’s John Buckley says, “We are always delighted to welcome our friends and colleagues to test drive our equipment. Being able to offer such a broad range of lens options means cinematographers can get exactly the look they want, or perhaps find something completely new – or something old!”
Having recently expanded the company presence at Movietech Cymru, the team are in the process making further investment right across their product range. Recent additions include a newly acquired set of uncoated master primes. Developed as a collaboration between ARRI and ZEISS these unique high speed prime lenses deliver unprecedented resolution

Jointly developed by ARRI and Zeiss, these lenses are currently drawing attention for their creative abilities and retro feel. Along with the speed and enhanced optical performance, which can surpass that of all standard speed primes, this particular family of uncoated lenses have a distinctive flaring ability and a classic imaging style, which is proving popular in the test bays.
