Taking stock of the Sony Venice Rialto System
Independent Camera, Lens and Grip specialists Movietech have taken early delivery of Sony’s new Venice Rialto system at their Pinewood Studios base.
Having attracted significant attention on the Movietech booth at the BSC Expo, the system has seen a quick uptake on a number of commercials and upcoming TV and film projects.
The Rialto allows the removal of the front image block of the Sony Venice for mounting into a much smaller housing. This housing is tethered to the recorder via a 9’ cable, which can be extended to 18’. Compact and intuitive, the Rialto is both simple and quick to configure in the field, with no compromise in camera capability.
Adding further functionality to the unit, the Movietech in-house engineering team have created a unique cage system to provide easily accessible, user-friendly ergonomics for an enhanced, more refined feel.
Speaking about the product, Movietech Managing Director John Buckley said “The Rialto is a welcome addition to our Full Frame inventory. Along with our custom cage system, the unit sparked plenty of interest at the BSC Expo and we’re delighted with the level of response we have already received from a host of Cinematographers.”
